A meditation class for anyone who's tried and "failed," based on the idea that anyone can do it. Clear, lighthearted teaching. (virtual)

About this Event

If I had a million dollars for every time someone said to me, "I've tried to meditate..." and then there's a longgg pause.... "but I just can't do it."

So I ask them what they mean. Because I really want to know.

And every single time, they say something like this:

"Well, I've tried but I just can't make my mind settle down! I sit there and my mind is ALL OVER THE PLACE! UGHHHH! I just can't do it."

And this people, is The NUMBER ONE bit of boloney people have been sold about what meditation is.

GOOD NEWS!

1. Meditation is not about MAKING your mind do anything, shut up or become all calm and silent or anything like that.

2. Anyone can learn to meditate, yes, even you. For real.

But you’re not sure where to begin?

We got you. In this guided adventure you’ll feel:

  • A connection with your deep inner balance

We provide everything you need:

  • Daypack that you can use for your water, snacks, and any extra clothing layers
  • Adventure pack that you keep. It includes lip balm and hand sanitizer
  • Ponchos should it rain
  • Watercolors
  • Watercolor paper
  • Brushes

You bring:

  • Water - both for drinking and painting
  • Snacks - if you like
  • Additional layers of clothing: gloves, hat, additional jacket, etc. Fingerless gloves are great for painting outside in cooler weather

You show up and we take care of the rest. The experience includes guided mindfulness and creativity practices. You’ll make a small watercolor painting celebrating your experience in the outdoors to take home and enjoy!

Hillary Johnson is a self-taught watercolorist who believes that making art should be fun like it was when we were just three. While she appreciates trained painters very much, she is happy to share the joy of playing with watercolors without a care in the world.
